Ajax, Genoa and Nantes planning January loan deals for Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana

Three European clubs Ajax, Genoa and Nantes are planning a January loan deal for Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton, according to report in Italy and England.

The Ghanaian international’s future at Southampton looks not brightening enough despite boss Ivan Juric praising Kamaldeen for his work ethic and mentality that could potentially lead to the forward having future at St. Mary, according to Juric.

Kamaldeen, 22, joined the Premier League side in January 2023 but has struggled in the English top flight over the nearly two seasons of campaign at Southampton.

This season, Kamaldeen has managed only two starts in nine games, marking the forward’s worst start in career over some seasons.

With Kamaldeen having largely limited playing time at Southampton, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that the winger could get a fresh life in the Serie A with Genoa boss Patrick Viera looking for a new winger.

The 12th placed Serie A club’s boss Patrick Viera is understood to be a big fan the 22-year old and ready to welcome to versatile forward to Genoa this January. All these are pointing to the report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

It’s suggestive to Futball Surgery Sports that Southampton want to sell the Ghanaian, an attempt they already made after agreeing a €20m summer deal with Benfica though Sky Sports is reporting the EPL side would have to even consider parting ways with the winger, and Southampton wanting wanting to trim the squad size this January lowers the possibility of Kamaldeen remaining at the club.

There are reports, in particular according to Sky Sports, that French Ligue 1 side Nantes have enquired about a January loan move for Kamaldeen in what comes to Genoa facing huge competition for winger’s signature.

Ajax is a third club planning to sign, and enquired about him at Southampton, this January but “The Saints” only want a permanent sale.
