Lyon forward Ernest Nuamah eyeing more goals after Europa League strike against Frankfurt

Ernest Nuamah has assured the fans of more star performances after inspiring Olympique Lyon to victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Europa League.

The Black Stars winger lasted 72 minutes as Lyon cruised to a 3-2 win over the German outfit at the Groupama Stadium on Thursday night.

Nuamah registered his name on the scoresheet, contributing to the French Ligue 1 giants victory over Frankfurt.

“I was out at the beginning of the season, then I came back into the squad. I’m so happy and proud to score my first goal and hopefully more will follow.”

Lyon were handed an early scare after German-Ghanaian winger Ansgar Knauff gave Frankfurt the lead in the 18th-minute mark. However, the home team swiftly responded with an equalizer in the 27th-minute through Rayan Cherki as the first half of the much-anticipated clash ended 1-1.

The host turned tides in the second half, scoring two quick goals through Malick Fofana and Nuamah in the 50th and 54th minutes respectively.
