Bournemouth demolished Newcastle United on Saturday, and whiles a major thanks to hat-trick star Justin Kluivert and Milos Kerkez, who struck in deep stoppage time, Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo must be praised for assisting the club’s opener.
Semenyo continued his red-hot form in the English after delivering another goal contribution in Bournemouth’s thrashing of Newcastle United in launch time kickoff at the Saint James Park.
Semenyo, who has scored six goals in the Premier League this season, produced an assist in the 4-1 win as Andoni Iraola’s men climb to sixth position on the table.
The Ghanaian forward served Justin Kluivert with a precise cut back pass to open the scoring at Saint James.
But the hosts levelled halfway through the game through Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaes, who strong header could not be stopped by Kepa Arizzabalaga.
The Cherries took the lead again just before half time after Kluivert slotted home from a Dango Ouattara pass.
After the break, Kluivert completed his hat-trick, his second of the campaign before Milos Kerkez sealed victory in injury time.
Semenyo has scored six goals and delivered three assists in 20 matches for Bournemouth this season.
“It was a crazy performance from us. We just knew we needed to get the press right and if we did we’d get opportunities and as you saw from a couple of the goals we got the press right and got the three points.”
“We wanted to catch out the back four as soon as the goalkeeper passed to the centre back that was our trigger to go and it worked out perfectly” he said and praised Justin Kluivert for his brilliant output.
“Justin [Kluivert]’s finishes were special. He is a top player for us. It was a well-deserved hat-trick.”
