Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, has reassured fans that the team is working tirelessly to recover from their recent poor run of form in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors have failed to win any of their last three matches, suffering back-to-back losses in their two most recent outings during the 2024/25 season.
Ahead of their Week 10 clash, Coach Ogum expressed his concerns about the team’s struggles while speaking to Kotoko’s media team. He admitted that the disappointing performances have been a source of worry not only for himself but also for the entire squad and technical staff.
“I’m worried, very concerned about it [our form]. The whole technical team and the players—everyone is worried. Nobody is happy because we started the league well, and we didn’t expect to find ourselves in this situation,” said Coach Ogum.
He acknowledged the frustration of the supporters, who had high expectations following the team’s strong start to the season.
“We all feel the pain and emotions of the fans, especially me. They expected more from us, and we were delivering before this sudden downturn,” he added.
Despite the setbacks, the Kotoko coach assured fans that the team is determined to bounce back.
“We want to assure them that we are putting the house in order. We are regrouping, and we will ensure we return stronger and play beautiful football,” Coach Ogum assured.
Asante Kotoko now faces a tough test against Bechem United this weekend, where they will aim to halt their losing streak.
The Week 10 clash is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, and fans are eagerly hoping for a turnaround in the team’s fortunes.
“I’m worried, very concerned about it [our form]. The whole technical team, the players—everybody is worried, and nobody is happy about this situation. We started the league well, so we didn’t anticipate we would face such a challenge,” Coach Ogum said.
He acknowledged the disappointment of the fans, who had high hopes following Kotoko’s promising start to the season.
“We all feel, especially me, the pain and emotions of the fans. They expected more from us, and we were delivering before things took a downturn,” he added.
Despite the current struggles, the Kotoko coach reassured supporters that the team is working tirelessly to turn things around.
“We need to show high levels of energy, high levels of aggression, and a lot of creativity in front of goal,” said Coach Ogum. “We have to make sure that when the few chances come our way, we take them. Bechem United is a very strong team, and we must be aggressive with or without the ball to overcome them.”
