Viktor Gyokeres, highly linked to the Premier League, has ruled out the possibility of following former manager Ruben Amorim to Manchester United.
Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres has commented on potentially following Ruben Amorim to Manchester United in the near future.
The former Coventry City man has been linked with a move to the Premier League previously and netted four goals in the 5-1 win against Estrela just hours after Amorim was confirmed as the next United boss.
“Going with Amorim to Manchester United? I don’t know,” he said after the game when asked about joining Amorim at Old Trafford.
“I’m here. As you can see, I enjoy it at Sporting.
“It’s nothing I really think about. I’m sad about him [Amorim] leaving. We wish him all the best.”
Man United sacked Erik ten Hag Monday following the club’s poor start to season. Former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been appointed on the interim basis leading the club’s 5-2 victory over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.
Sporting manager Ruben Amorim is now the man to takeover the managerial position on permanent basis.
But the Portuguese International has revealed he is not bringing Sporting Lisbon players to Old Trafford.
