Asante Kotoko have progressed to round 16 of Ghana’s FA Cup after recently joined striker Kwame Poku and defender Henry Ansu scored in each half of the game against lower side Acceler8z .
Though Kotoko’s win was the predicted results prior to the game, Acceler8z who played as the hosts gave the visitors a tough game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium Sunday.
Acceler8z’s nature of game realistically forced Kotoko to break the deadlock through the spot after Kwame Poku converted the resultant incident from a foul in the box. Saaka Duada run through Accelera8z defence but the winger was brought down in the box.
The hosts did not threaten Kotoko much in any way. The Reds enjoyed possession in clipped pitch and attacked in some occasions with limited clear chances.
Kotoko got a free kick just behind the box in stoppage time. Lord Amoah passed the ball to a clearer position to goal with Henry Ansu firing a powerful short into the net.
