The Black Stars of Ghana have made three new call-ups in their up coming African Cup of Nations qualifying final game against Niger on Monday.
Ghana boss Otto Addo has called Medeama defender Kamaradini Mamudu, the first time the full back has been invited to Ghana’s senior national team.
Ghana Premier League central defender Ebenezer Abba, who plays for Hearts of Lions, has also received a maiden call up in the second game of this International break.
Youngster Jerry Afriyie featuring for Ghanaian lower tier side Thoughts FC has also been called to face Niger with the game taking place in Accra Sports Stadium. Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku sustained injuries during the Angola match, with Ayew’s MRI scans revealing significant knee issues and Issahaku being forced off in the first half. The Leicester City duo are expected to return to their Premier League Sunday to begin rehabilitation.
Ghana will not appear in 2025 Morocco Afcon following a hard fought 1-1 draw against group leaders Angola riday night as the results finally put an end to Ghana’s hopes. The West African nation took the lead after Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew carved a goal from a well delivered free kick behind Angola’s box.
The hosts fought back for the equalizer through Zini who put his header under Felício Milson’s delivery and into the roof of the net in the second half.
Ghana have not won a game in the Afcon qualifiers but have secured three points after 5 games which far below Angola’s 13 points and Sudan’s 7 points ahead of the final qualifying games.
